Return of the Yoga Club
By Monica Lepper
The word Yoga means “to join or yoke together.” According to the American Yoga Association, it brings the body and mind together into one harmonious experience. Last year, two students from the class of 2013 started a Yoga Club for their Senior Project. This year, senior Loretta Blaut is bringing back the Yoga Club as part of her senior project.
The first Yoga club meeting will be on Monday, September 23 after school in the dance studio. All of the meetings will range from forty-five minutes to an hour. For her senior project, Blaut plans on taking classes along with teaching yoga. She began this process when she went to You Do Yoga Downtown on Sunday, September 15. Blaut says that she is just trying to have fun, teach yoga, participate in yoga and just be a healthier person. “I want my Seton community to join in.” The whole system of Yoga is built on three main structures: exercise, breathing, and meditation. According to the American Yoga Association, regular daily practice of all three parts of this structure of Yoga produce a clear, bright mind and a strong, capable body.
