Tennis Competes at Sectionals
By Jessica Wuebbolt
On Saturday, October 5, Tennis competed in sectionals in Mason. Tennis sectionals is an end of the year tournament where teams across Cincinnati come and compete against each other. The sectionals tournament is set up where there is a singles and doubles draw for individual players. This means that all singles players will compete against each other and all doubles players will do the same. To move forward into districts you have to be either one of the top four singles players, or one of the top four doubles teams.
Junior Maggie Walroth had a standout match, winning all of her first singles except one to Hamilton. Overall, Walroth came in second at Sectionals and will move forward to districts to compete for a state title. Seton senior, Macy Wauligman, lost her first doubles games with scores of 2-6 and 2-6 against Mount Notre Dame. Jenna Kohler and Hannah Schwaeble competed well together and won both of their second doubles against Fairfield and Harrison. Junior Laura Hofmeyer had a tough match against Mercy in her first doubles with scores of 2-6 and 1-6. Overall, the Seton tennis team had a great year with a record of 7-10 and a GGCL record of 3-7.
