Saints Fall but Zombies Rise
By Olivia Wall
On Tuesday, October 8 the volleyball match against the Mercy Bobcats did not end well for the Saints on Senior Night. Mercy beat the Saints in just three games, 25-15, 25-8 and 25-18. Despite the bitter loss for the girls in green, they were backed by a fantastic cheering squad who had seemingly risen from the dead. During varsity warm-ups, the music stopped and suddenly Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” began to blare through the gym followed by a massive swarm of Seton students dressed as zombies. These zombies were on attack mode. Throughout the entire game they cheered relentlessly. Senior team members Amanda Hayden, Hannah Flickinger, Kendall Cappel, Morgan Masminster, and Ashley O’Brien celebrated after the game. The underclassman of the volleyball program hosted a party for the senior girls in the old gym. The other varsity team members wrote poems about their favorite memories with the seniors and wished them luck in their future. Senior Ashley O’Brien said “I really appreciated everything the girls did for us and I am so glad to have been a part of the volleyball program at Seton High School”.
