Candy Wrapper Contest
By Alyssa Lyons
“Calling all candy wrappers!” Eco-club is collecting candy wrappers this week to motivate students to recycle. The practice of recycling is included in Seton’s mission statement, as well as the mission of the Sisters of Charity to be God’s acting caretakers of the earth.
The recycled candy wrappers will be used to save the environment, as well as earn money for Seton. Junior Gabby Hirlinger says, “”Eco Club has been very active this year and is planning on more fun and exciting events just like the Candy Wrapper Contest to get the students involved!” The homeroom that brings in the most candy wrappers on Friday will receive a breakfast. Currently Mr. Brauch’s homeroom leads for the freshman, Mr. Green leads for the sophomores, Mrs. Corey leads the juniors, and Mr. Villings homeroom takes the lead for the seniors. The contest ends Friday, Novemeber 8, 2013.
