Seton’s Spirit Strikes Again
By Abby Rollinger
After a day full of anticipation, questions, and even slight concern, yesterday’s mystery assembly turned out to be one full of celebration as Seton received $25,000! Earlier this year, students and staff members participated in contest to raise awareness about safe driving. This contest, Celebrate My Drive, was sponsored by State Farm Insurance Company Seton ended up being one of 100 schools throughout the nation to receive the most safe-driving commitments. As a result, Seton received a check from State Farm representative, Steve Ulmer, at Monday’s assembly as an acknowledgement for our spirited accomplishment.
A portion of the winnings will be put towards inviting another safe-driving speaker to further bring home the message about being cautious behind the wheel. The rest of the $25,000 will be given to the club, Seton Helping Saints, to provide financial aid for Seton’s students purchase things such as prom tickets or dresses, yearbooks, mission trips, and other perks that they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise. The plan is to fund the grant in order to sustain it for years to come, helping thousands of present and future saints.
Thank you to everyone who exemplified Seton’s renowned spirit through making a safe-driving commitment that resulted in this tremendous reward.
