9th Annual Holiday on the Hill
By Ally Kampel
Holiday on the Hill is a fun filled weekend taking place in Price Hill on Friday, December 6, through Sunday, December 8. Activities begin Friday with Seton and Elder chorus members singing Christmas carols on Seton’s front lawn followed by the 9th annual tree lighting. Chief of Police for the Cincinnati Police Department, Jeffery Blackwell, has the honor of lighting the Christmas tree for the entire Price Hill community to enjoy. The Spanish club will provide desserts and hot chocolate, and at 7:00 p.m., Seton’s Drama Club will present, “A Seussified Christmas Carol”. Tickets for the play will be five dollars.
On Saturday, December 7, the activities begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Elder Schaeper Center. The Elder band and Steel Drum band will perform from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Elder’s Ensemble, the Eagles Wings Choir, the church choir of St. Lawrence, and the Blackhawk Singers from St. Dominic, will also perform. Here at Seton, the Children’s Holiday Fair, a fair in the Seton commons with kids, crafts, refreshments, and family fun, will be taking place from 10 a.m. to noon. There will also be another performance of the “Seussified Christmas Carol” at 2:00 p.m.
Holiday on the Hill is a great way to connect the Price Hill community. Coordinator, Sr. Sandy says, “It is so neat to see the community come together to light the tree on Friday. It brings all members of the community, young and old, together and is a great kickoff to a wonderful weekend.”
