Nursing home

Seton choirs students, Grace Davis, Taylor Gray, Abbie Hahn, Nora Hibbard, Anna Lindle, Allie Broderick, Myela Carson, Jenna Kohler, Carmen Sunderman, Cierra Watkins, Cayla Schmitt, Catherine Tuttle, and Rachel Watkins,  visit nursing homes on Thursday, December 5.  The  students  sang Christmas carols at Little Sisters of the Poor, Liberty Riverside Care Center, and Harrison Pavilion. According to Maribeth Samoya, Seton´s choir director, the choir fills the homes with warmth when they carol the Christmas classics, such as Sleigh Ride and Winter Wonderland and theresidents are grateful to hear the young girls sing their favorite Christmas songs. The girls are happy to see the smiles on the resident’s faces when they share the Christmas spirit as well, . Samoya said “Singing in the nursing and retirement homes is one of the most rewarding things we do all year. Many residents don’t leave their homes much and their faces just light up when they see the girls all dressed up and singing. Some cry because the music makes them happy.” On Tuesday, December 10, another group of Seton students were scheduled to  perform at Mother Margaret Hall, Bayley Place, and Eldermount Adult Daycare, however due to the unexpected snow day on Tuesday these shows were canceled
