On Saturday, January 11 the Seton Swim Team participated in the JV invitational meet which was hosted by Ursuline Academy and held at St. Xavier high school. . Other GGCL schools in attendance were McAuley, Ursuline, Roger Bacon, Ursula, Mason, and Fairfield.
The Saints placed well in most of the events, standout senior Maggie Freudiger especially shined overall placing second in her heat of 50 Free and finishing with a time of 27:51. Freudiger also placed first in the 100 meter Free with a time of 1:00.10, she said, “It was good to see all the hard work I’ve put forth pay off.”
The invitational was also the first meet back for junior Hannah Fricke. Fricke was put on the disabled list two weeks prior to the invitational due to a concussion. Participating in only two events, 100 meter Breast stroke and the 200 Medley Relay, Fricke was able earn points for the Saints. Fricke said, “It was nice to be back in the water after not being able to participate in winter training.” In the last event of the invitational, the 400 meter Free Relay, the relay team of senior Alyssa Lyons, sophomore Allie Bihl, and freshmen Jessica Ginn and Emma Acomb finished in third place. They finished with a time of 4:17.67.
The Saints look forward to their next meet the Coaches Classic at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio on both Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19. Good luck girls!
