Tough Week for Seton Basketball

Seton Varsity Basketball has played two tough games this week. On Tuesday, January 21 the Saints put up a hard fight against Alter, the number 1 team in the city who has yet to lose a game. The team knew this was going to be a tough game from the tip off, but never gave up hope. The Saints had a rough first quarter only scoring 5 points, but came back strong with a final score of 70-52. Senior Loretta Blaut was the leading scorer for the Saints with a total 10 points. Tori Scholl was not far behind with a total of 9 points.
On Thursday, January 23 the Saints took on their biggest rivalry, the Mercy Bobcats. They Saints stayed neck and neck with them most of the game, but unfortunately lost in the end with a score of 66-47. Junior Rachel Seaman says, “I am proud of my team no matter what the score was, we put in the effort and never gave up.” Senior Haley Daugherty had a very impressive game scoring three three point shots. The Saints were 6 for 8 from the foul line.
Next week the Seton Basketball team will play on Tuesday, January 28 against St. Ursula at 7:30 at Seton. They will also play on Thursday, January 30 at 7:30 against Mcauley at Mcauley.
