Seton Basketball Season Coming to an End

Seton Freshman basketball played a very tough game on Tuesday, January 28 at Seton against the Ursula bulldogs. The final score was 64-35 Ursula. Although the Saints did not win, leading scorers Maddie Peters with 12 points and Deanna Lammers with 11 points played one of their best games. As a team, the Saints were 17 of 27 from the free throw line shooting 63 percent.
Seton Varsity basketball defeated the St. Ursula bulldogs with a score of 59-37 on Tuesday, January 28 at Seton. It was grade school night and an outstanding win for all of the future Saints to see. The Saints were full of enthusiasm, tremendous effort, and energy from the tip. Freshman Kelly Byrne says, “I’m so proud of my team. We all worked together and everyone contributed in some way.” Senior Loretta Blaut was leading scorer with 10 points and Byrne not far behind with 9 points. Blaut had 9 rebounds and two blocks. The Saints had a 35.4 field goal shooting percentage. Sixteen point two percent from three point shots and 53.3 percent from the foul line. The Saints are now 9-10 and are working their hardest to get a winning season.
The Saints are left with two more regular season games before proceeding to the tournament. They play next week on Tuesday, February 4 at 7:30 against Ursuline Academy and Thursday, February 6 at 7:30 at Seton. This will be Senior night for all the girls on the Varsity team.
