Junior Dance Team Brings Home a Win
By Kaylie Brown
On Saturday January 25 the Junior Seton dance team competed in the Fusion Dance Competition in Fisher Indiana sponsored by AmeriDance. The Juniors took first place in jazz as well as first place in pom. The team had the overall highest score out of all of the teams competing which earned them the title of Grand Champions. Special recognition goes to MC Corey for placing first for her solo in the junior solo category who was originally not planning on doing a solo at this competition. MC Corey said, “I’m very proud of my team for coming in first in both pom and jazz and for our big win of Grand Champion, which means our score was the highest out of any other routine competing that day.” Kristen Lehan said, “It was really exciting for me and my team to be able to compete at a junior high level and still beat older teams than us. It was definitely a proud moment not only for me and my teammates but our coaches as well.” Overall this was a great accomplishment for the Junior team
The Junior team can be seen next at the Seton Vs. Ursuline Basketball game on Jan 4 during halftime at the Varsity game. Their last competition before Nationals is the Oak Hills Competition which will take place on January 9 at Oak Hills High School. Nationals this year for the Junior team will take place in Covington, KY at the Jamfest Super Nationals Competition at the northern Kentucky convention center on February 15 and 16.
