The Varsity and Junior dance teams performed at the Oak Hills High School competition on Sunday, February 9. The Juniors earned first in their pom routine and second in their jazz, behind Spotlight Dance Center. Varsity earned first, as well as high point and wow choreography for their pom routine. They also earned first for their jazz routine as well as the high point for their jazz routine. In addition, they also won Grand Champion for the competition, meaning that they had the highest score for the event as a whole. Megan Kelly, a member of the Varsity dance team commented on what it was like to perform at OakHills as her second last Seton dance team performance ever. She said, “It was bittersweet because we’ve had such a great year and ending it in our home town being able to show off our third place national routine was a lot of fun and an exciting experience.” She continued to say, “However, this team has such a connection and spark on the floor that will be missed and walking around a competition with so much pride will be extremely hard for us seniors to leave behind.”
Juniors are scheduled to compete in the JamFest Dance Super Nationals at the Covington Convention Center Saturday and Sunday, February 15 and 16. This will be their last competition for the season. Varsity is finished competing for the season. Both teams will perform for the last time at Celebrate Seton on March 2. Good job and good luck girls!
