Easter Bunny Visits Holy Family

By Molly Kraisinger

On Friday, April 11, members of the Spanish club delivered Easter packages to Holy Family.  Club president, Kendall Cappel, and members junior Leigha Kraemer and sophomore Kylie Albers delivered the left over Easter gift bags from the Easter egg hunt the Spanish Club hosted on Saturday, April 5. The gift bags included Easter themed items like a pencil, coloring page with Spanish vocabulary, candy, a bracelet, stickers and an eraser in the shape of an Easter basket, egg or chick. Spanish Club moderator and Spanish teacher Mary Beth Corey along with community service coordinator, Sister Sandy Howe chaperoned the trip to Holy Family. There while Kraemer and Cappel delivered the Easter treats to kindergarten through fourth graders. Albers, dressed up as Easter Bunny delivered high five and hugs to the excited students.  While waiting for the kindergarteners to wake up from their afternoon nap, the group ventured out on the playground where the teachers and eighth graders stopped what they were doing to give the Easter Bunny a hug.   According to Corey, some of the kindergarteners were hesitant at first to approach the Easter Bunny, but quickly warmed up to her shouting, “That’s a girls up there I can see her!” Corey concluded, “It was rewarding to give back to the community and see the smiles on the children’s faces.”
