Seton Track Takes On Louisville, Kentucky
By Kaylie Brown
On April 16, the first official day of spring pause, the Seton track team packed up and headed down to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in a dual meet with Oldham County High School. Seton may have only been competing against one other team in this meet, but the girls approached the meet with high hopes of breaking records, getting personal records, and winning.
Oldham County won the meet but Seton runners experienced good competition which will benefit them in the long run. Sophomore Maria Visconti said, “This meet was really fun and different because we have never done a dual Meet before. The other team was really good and racing against them gave us good competition and will make us better next time we run against the other schools in our area.” Even though it was loss for Seton there were many outstanding achievements earned. Junior Kelsey Kurzhals finished first in the 100m dash, and senior Ellie Hahn earned first place in shot put and discus. Anna Schoster broke the triple jump school record with a leap of 30’1 formerly held by Gabrielle Kraemer with her jump of 29-8, in 2013).
Seton varsity will be competing on April 23 at Winton Woods High School and JV will be competing April 24 at the PAC, in Elder’s Rally’s Meet.
