Seton Alumni Walk 2014
By Sydney Haussler
On Sunday, September 14, Seton alumnae gathered for their annual walk. Participants arrived at Seton High School around 9:30 a.m. for registration. Participants were given tee-shirts to wear during the walk. At 10:00 a.m., all guests gathered in the gym for mass where current Seton students and alumnae helped with the singing. During mass, Father Anthony Bausch gave a very meaningful homily about God’s love for us all and the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross. As soon as mass ended, the alumnae were given maps of the route they were to walk. The walk was approximately 3.1 miles; a 5k. At their return from the walk, participants received lunch from LaRosa’s—salad, pizza, and Italian pasta. They were also given homemade desserts. For entertainment, tickets were sold for a raffle of several baskets and split the pot. The children could participate in activities such as corn hole, face painting, and a sucker pull.
Seton Alum, Joyce Hoffman, commented, “I enjoyed spending a beautiful morning walking in the Seton neighborhood with old friends and visiting girls I haven’t seen in a long time.” Although there were not as many participants as the past years, the Seton Alumni walk was a real success and enjoyable for all.
